My bad, that's the original launcher log. Attempting to initialise DX9 COM object. OS version: Major: 6, Minor: 2, Build: 9200, Platform: 2 File version 10000:49c0002 (for E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAVLauncher.exe) File version 10002:20000 (for C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Social Club\socialclub.dll) File version 10000:49c0002 (for E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\GTA5.exe) I'm using an external hard drive, so I discovered that the Rocksteady game files were all on my PC's drive when they should probably be on the external, and I thought that would fix the problem, but alas. Not quite sure how to check OS version or service pack, but I believe this socialclub_launcher.log should be helpful. Which of the set of steps do you reccomend I take? I've verified the integrity of files, cleared download cache, I HAVEN'T reinstalled the game (because it takes about 9 hours for my computer to download), and I've fidgeted around with the Social Club client files to try and see if I could get it to recognize my account. Over the last 2 years, many users have had alot of problems with social club related to web browers, malware/adware, vpns, network related software, settings, antivirus/security software, settings, router/modem, OS files, etc.Īccount "not existing" can easily be something interfering with "transmission" of your credentials. The real meat of my post is the link and all the steps in it. As a 3rd party, I can't verify for you short of only using the existence/lackthereof maxpayne3 or lanoire on your steam account to proc an account link. Originally posted by psykoteky:I mentioned it as a check - nothing else. So it shouldn't be a problem with linking an old account because I made the account right after installing the game. I'm completely new to everything about GTA V online. Nah, I haven't made a Rocksteady account before. you kind of have to unless you just format'd your pc 1hr ago and it is 100% vanilla. If anything, can always try on a diff pc, tether connection, isp, and rule out a few other things. and only testing is going to sort it out. That is not the giant link of all sorts of problems that can manifest via connection issues, background software, malware, settings, etc etc.įor the last few weeks quite a few people have been having various problems logging in - mostly those from overseas. (I last remember the website ASKING people to update their info, which is what logging in would have hopefully prompted as well if that was the case - might still be something to check) Again, that's a single paragraph - and a simple test. Old social club accounts can choke on the lack of regional information or an OLD password. Thanks.Originally posted by psykoteky:In some cases - you'd be surprised as to what can cause problems. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated, guys. I have searched everywhere for a solution, asked reddit, the steam forums, and now I'm all out of options. Even my friend who has the same internet provider as me. Now, the kicker to this is that all my friends can login to the game and connect to the website just fine. I also tried validating the files (I'm on PC, Steam), changing DNS servers (I don't know if I did it correctly, though), unplugging and re plugging my internet/ethernet cable, which all failed to fix the problem. Tried re installing GTA which somehow worked for a day but the problem resurfaces the next day. I have tried re downloading and re installing social club to no avail. Also tried connecting to the website with my phone via mobile data, connected just fine. tried using VPN to connect to the website, it connected but doesn't display anything, don't know what that means though. I can connect to other websites just fine which I think rules out any internet connection problem. Same goes for the website, I can't connect to, it just says that it can't be reached and that the site took too long to respond. But now I can't login to my social club account in-game, it just puts me on offline mode and says the rockstar servers are unreachable. So, I've never had this problem before, GTA was fine weeks ago. ![]()
